For the next three years, SFR Business will support the public sector on the road to cybersecurity. Selected by Ugap (Union of Public Purchasing Groups), the main central public purchasing body, the business division of the telecom operator will provide network cybersecurity solutions and services to local authorities, administrations and other health.
A market of prime importance, as cyberattacks have multiplied in recent months against public actors. The hospitals of Corbeil-Essonnes (91) and Versailles (78), the nursing home in Beuzeville (27), the town halls of Chaville (92) and Brunoy (91), the departmental councils of Alpes-Maritimes and Seine- et-Marne were recently victims of cybercriminals.
In its “2022 Cyber Threat Overview”, the National Information Systems Security Agency (Anssi) notes that ransomware, the main threat observed, particularly affects local authorities (23%) and public health establishments. (10%). The Déclic association, bringing together public operators of digital services (OPSN), has identified all the victim organizations on a map.
A market of 22,000 public players
From this month of January 2023, the 22,000 or so public players affiliated with Ugap will be able to select the referenced solutions of SFR Business and its partners without proceeding to a call for tenders. Firewall, VPN, EDR, detection of advanced threats… the offer covers a range of workstation, network or cloud security solutions offered by publishers Check Point Software, Cybereason, EfficientIP, F5, Fortinet, Netskope, Stormshield and Vectra AI.
This market includes two lots. Public players can choose solutions from these specialized publishers or, if they already have them, opt for additional services with Palo Alto Networks, a global player in cybersecurity.
Beyond the configuration, installation and maintenance of this software, the services of supervision and administration of the security of the information system, going as far as the implementation of SOC (Security operations centers) are offered.
Also referenced by Ugap, the Advens firm should continue to provide security audit, intrusion test or support services in the definition of a continuity or business recovery plan (PCA/PRA ).
SFR Business highlights its ITIL, PMI, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications. The operator is also a health data host (HDS) for its data centers in Bordeaux, Courbevoie, Val-de-Reuil, Vénissieux and Trappes. A healthcare facility is required to use a certified or HDS-approved host when it outsources the storage of its data.
In competition with Orange Cyberdefense
Created in 2008, SFR Business is the corporate brand of SFR, France’s second largest operator and a subsidiary of the Altice group. This digital services company (ESN) offers telephony and business network services or solutions dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT). It employs 3,900 people and claims 190,000 client companies.
SFR Business is positioned in direct competition with Orange Business Services (OBS) and Orange Cyberdefense, the ESN and cybersecurity subsidiaries of the Orange group. According to information from Echoes, Orange Cyberdéfense did not apply for the selection operated by Ugap. Previously, the cybersecurity infrastructure market had been awarded to Nomios.
