Death of Gaspard Ulliel: the channels upset their programs

IHe was the angel face of French cinema, a raw talent, a discreet personality that the world of cinema and more broadly of culture mourns today. Gaspard Ulliel died on Wednesday January 19 following a skiing accident in Savoie. He had been transported to the Grenoble University Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. The announcement of his death, at 37, rang to the top of the French state, with the words of Jean Castex, who paid tribute to him in a message posted on his Twitter account. “It is with a heavy heart that we will now see his most beautiful interpretations and meet this certain look,” wrote the Prime Minister.

And as in a certain echo, the television channels have for their part decided to upset their programs in order to allow whoever wishes to (re) discover some of the most grandiose performances of the actor, Caesarized twice. From this Wednesday at 10:40 p.m., Paris Premiere will broadcast “Jacquou le croquant”, by Laurent Boutonnat, released in 2007, while the Ciné+ channel, from the Canal group, will broadcast in the first part of the evening, at 8:50 p.m., the voluptuous “Saint-Laurent” by Bertrand Bonello, released in 2014. Gaspard Ulliel lent his features with charm and sensuality to the famous couturier.

Tributes all week

In a tweet, the channel also announced that other feature films by the actor will be broadcast, such as “Egarés”, by André Téchiné, who revealed Gaspard Ulliel against Emmanuelle Béart. In a press release published Wednesday on social networks, France Télévisions for its part hailed the memory of a “dazzling talent” with a “demanding and eclectic” career, and announced that two films with Gaspard Ulliel would be broadcast this week.

“A long engagement Sunday”, a feature film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet which had allowed the actor to acquire fame with the public, will be broadcast on France 3, Thursday January 20, at 9:10 p.m. Alongside Audrey Tautou, Gaspard Ulliel played Manech, a young soldier during the First World War. A role that will earn him the César for best male hope. France 2, for its part, will pay tribute to the actor on Sunday January 23, from 9:10 p.m., with the broadcast of “Sybil”, by Justin Triet, in which Gaspard Ulliel gave the reply to Virginie Efira and Adèle Exarchopoulos.
