The American actor Patrick Duffy, who played the husband of Suzanne Somers in the series Our Beautiful Family, paid a vibrant tribute to the actress who died this Sunday at the age of 76, following breast cancer.

“Like all the people who knew her, I learned with amazement that my dear and tender friend Suzanne had died”declares Patrick Duffy in a long message sent to the People site. “For a brief moment, it was inconceivable. But she really is gone.”

“The deep, thoughtful, absurd and frivolous dialogue I had with her continues”continues the 74-year-old actor. “Our conversations will now be conducted solely through my daily practice of Buddhism.”

“I’m not the only person who wishes to have another face to face with her and her husband Alan. And even if I had seen her on Friday, I would want to meet again today. This is the painful beauty of our human reality”concludes the eternal interpreter of Bobby Ewing in Dallas. “I send all my strength and support to her husband Alan, her son Bruce and her family. And to Suzanne, I said to her: ‘When the stone of your life fell into this pond, what a wave you created my friend… Thank you.””

Suzanne Somers and Patrick Duffy starred in the cult series Our Beautiful Family, broadcast between 1991 and 1998. The ABC show tells the story of Frank and Carol who marry on a whim, when they are already parents of three children each. The problem is that these two families are very different, almost opposites, and cohabitation is far from easy.
