A strategy with “red lines” according to Jordan Bardella
To justify this decision, the head of the RN list for Europeans explained on France 2 that this strategy included “red lines”, in particular Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and NATO. He also denounced the “principle of active deterrence” mentioned in the Franco-Ukrainian security agreement signed on February 16 by Emmanuel Macron and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. “We must be very careful”, said Jordan Bardella, “yes to support for Ukraine but no to a war with Russia” which, he recalled, is “a nuclear power”.
“This subject requires a lot of distance, a lot of measurement, a lot of reason,” he criticized, judging “irresponsible” the latest statements by Emmanuel Macron who did not rule out sending Western troops on the ground.
