Depilation painless and without much effort – that sounds tempting. And it works. However, I have to run every other day for smooth legs.
I don't need the battery-powered, integrated trimmer for a stubble-free hair removal result. In the shower and with a thin layer Shaving gel gets the Wet razor my fine hair effortlessly gone. From the bottom up, so against the direction of growth, it becomes particularly smooth. Only on the knee and the ankles I have to be careful with the hair removal so as not to injure myself on the blades. With a little less pressure, the shaver can do that too.

Flash technology

Oooops, that's bright! Not a laser, but a very powerful lamp to flash off my leg hair, so that they and their roots fail after about a week. Doctors also use this technique.
However, the home device flashes about a third less. I have to bombard my skin three times in six weeks, after which it should hairless for three months his! Before that, however, I have to shave, as it says in the operating instructions, which contain many warnings and restrictions: do not go over pigment spots, do not irradiate one area repeatedly, do not use deodorant with long-term effects, do not use on dark skin, on blond, red or white hairs it doesn't work. Sounds complicated.
I put on sunglasses for safety and start flashing. First only on the right leg. After a week of side comparison: dark blonde hairs sprout cheerfully on both legs. Next time I increase the light intensity, two weeks later I see a small difference – the result after six weeks is not really convincing.

Epilate legs

Since my leg hair is very manageable, mine comes epilator not used as often – which is actually a shame, because now I love him. Sugaring
Nina Brinkmann, former intern in the beauty department, had a beautician suggest the entire bikini area.
I have tried a number of hair removal products – but go to a beautician to have the entire bikini line depilated? But I'm not a coward! After my visit I can now say with a clear conscience: Worth it. It's great that the beautician doesn't hesitate for long: she simply pulls in small, jerky movements the sticky mass (reminiscent of very viscous honey) really all hair stick.
And the result is terrific. Everything is smooth and my very sensitive skin is not even irritated. Well, it's red and a little warm, but not as bad as if I shaved. The pain increases from the outside in, but is definitely bearable. The last stubborn hairs are with a tweezers plucked out individually, I don't even notice that anymore.

Cold wax strips
It's actually quite simple: The pastel-colored stripes that smell pungent of essential oil become briefly warmed between the palms, on the area to be depilated, for example the calf, and then pulled off with a jerk (maybe not quite as courageous for me).
Unfortunately, contrary to expectations, only half of the hairs wanted to come here, but there was still some wax left over. Of course, I could have repeated the process as often as I wanted, until all body hair would have been perdu for a long time: one evening of pain and sticky hands, but up to four weeks of rest, that's the idea of wax depilation. But I personally prefer to use it more often in the future

Depilatory cream

After a short test phase during my teenage days, one thing is certain for me: body hair in unwanted areas is shaved off, archaically with the blade. The hair removal cream from back then, around 1988, smelled strong and persistent. And wax strips didn't work for me.
Today, a few years of cosmetic development, I'm starting a new cream attempt to smooth my legs rock-fine. The effect of screwing on the tube is like traveling through time. The smell has not changed, as strictly as then. Cover your nose, keep applying the cream, wait three minutes. Much faster than before! And the result is also nicer: very smooth and smooth at the same time, which is probably due to camellia oil. My legs stay smooth for four days, then fine fluff grows again. I cream again, then neutralize the scent with my favorite body cream.

Warm wax
Angela Schöneck, Beauty editor, was with Warm wax hairless on armpits.
Armpits growing on their own, I've never had a good experience with that. Fortunately, the so-called Depiladora spreads discrete routine, which is very reassuring.
The skin is first powdered carefully to avoid direct contact with the skin heated wax (honey-based) to protect. This is tough and is applied from an aluminum pot with the spatula from a sterile packed bag, first a layer two centimeters wide. As it dries, the next one is placed next to it. And then: a jerk, zack, the wax is gone and with it a set of hairs. The beautician immediately puts her fingers on the spot, which strangely relieves the pain – which feels like I have touched a hot cup.
Around all cross-growing hair to catch, and this species is mainly under the armpits, it repeats the jag-and-finger-thing five times. The last hairs disappear with the tweezers.
My conclusion: It's worth it because moderately painful, and even after 14 days only the finest hair growth appears. Small hook: Before removal, the hair must be about five millimeters long. Then it says: arms down and through.

Sugaring method
Martina Behm, freelancer, tried the Sugaring method at home – with a recipe from the Internet.
On Youtube I find a video in which user "Amy11190" shows how to do it: Simmer 1/4 cup of water, 1/4 cup of lemon juice and 2 cups of sugar until the liquid takes on a light yellow color. Let it cool down – and off you go:
Knead a lump of the viscous mass with your hands until it easily detaches from your fingers and looks whitish-yellow. Then brush against the direction of hair growth with a lot of pressure on the desired areas and pull off with one or more knobs in the direction of hair growth. Ouch!
And voilà: hairs gone, at least where they were longer than about 5 millimeters. The skin is slightly red afterwards, but the next morning everything is wonderfully smooth.
Conclusion: much easier to use than wax, much smoother result than when shaving. The only downside: I had to let the recently shaved areas, where the hairs were shorter than 5 millimeters, grow a bit.

- Duration: Preparation about 1 hour. Hair removal all over the body approx. 30 minutes
- Success: am thrilled and will do it again!
