Despite crop failure – fruit grower sits on his apricot treasure

“People think that there is nothing anyway!”
The frost in April was of course also felt by Glück, who has to make do with a third of his normal harvest this year. “Nevertheless, I can pick up to 400 kilograms of apricots a day, but street sales aren’t going well this year,” says the farmer. Every day his mother sits at the sales stand on the street in the Wachau and tries to sell the apricots – this year, by the way, of particularly high quality. And although the Wachau apricots are a coveted commodity, only a few gourmets come by. That’s why Glück confirms: “There is definitely a chance to get hold of Wachau apricots despite the weaker harvest!”
