Fear The Walking Dead Season 6 Trailer Teases The Beginning Of The End

Fear the Walking Dead has dropped a new trailer for its upcoming second half of season 6. The new TV spot teases that the end is the beginning.

Fear the Walking Dead has dropped a new trailer for the upcoming second half of its sixth season, and it holds an ominous message for the core survivors. A companion series and spinoff to AMC’s flagship show, The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead premiered in August 2015. Initially, the show focused on the blended Clark family as they prepared to survive in a new world at the onset of a zombie apocalypse. But as the seasons progressed, Fear the Walking Dead kept on switching out its main characters. In season 4, Lennie James’ Morgan Jones from the original series crossed over to the show, becoming the new focus of Fear the Walking Dead. Jones encounters the Clark family’s surviving members and then sets out to find new survivors in Texas, shaping the series’ narrative in future seasons.

Fear the Walking Dead returned for its latest season 6 in October 2020. Production on the show was underway since November 2019, but it was partially halted in March 2020 due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the US. Prior to the production shutdown, the show had already filmed the first half of its sixth season. Therefore the show was able to broadcast seven episodes until its midseason finale on November 22. But after the midseason finale, the show went on a hiatus to film its remaining episodes. Now, the show is gearing up to return for season 6B, and it has already dropped a trailer teasing what’s to come next.

The Walking Dead‘s official YouTube channel unveiled a new trailer for Fear the Walking Dead‘s upcoming episodes. The new trailer isn’t very long, but it provides insightful glimpses at the fates of Morgan, Strand, Dwight, Alicia, and the rest of the apocalypse survivors living under the thumb of Virginia’s Pioneer settlements. The new promo also includes a bunch of emotional struggles and reunions, but most importantly, it introduces a new masked faction, which appears to be getting aggressive with everyone. Virginia’s sister Dakota – who went missing in the midseason finale – is also seen trapped in a vehicle, and the search for her is amping up tensions everywhere. The trailer cuts out with a shot of the core survivors standing together in a lift, with a voiceover teasing, “this is where life will begin again.” Besides the new trailer, the show has also shared a key art poster for season 6B. It features a haunting walker melded into a tree, which was also shown in an earlier trailer.

As confirmed previously, Fear the Walking Dead season 6 will return for its second half on Sunday, April 11 at 9/8c. The new split season will consist of nine episodes, and it will continue the story from the first half “at full intensity with shocks, scares, heartbreaks, and revelations.” There will also be several other big changes for the universe going ahead, including the addition of three new characters, played by John Glover (Smallville), Nick Stahl (Sin City), and Keith Carradine (Deadwood). The forthcoming episodes will primarily focus on Morgan’s attempts to rescue the surviving members of his group. Virginia, meanwhile, will also make her best attempts to find her sister and protect the Pioneers.

The new trailer’s baleful tagline, ‘The End Is The Beginning,’ was also the title of season 6’s first episode. So with Fear the Walking Dead reiterating the concept for its upcoming episodes, it’s abundantly clear a new chapter in the quest for survival awaits the heroes at the end of season 6. At the moment, it’s not known whether the new beginning and adventure are connected to Virginia’s wrath or the mysteries concerning the irradiated Walkers and the new villains. But hopefully, viewers won’t have to wait much longer to find out what the message really means as Fear the Walking Dead will be back in just a month.
