Kourtney Kardashian says Keeping Up With The Kardashians is ‘toxic’ and left her ‘unfulfilled’

Kourtney Kardashian has opened up on why she quit her family show Keeping Up With The Kardashians after 13 years.

The 41 year old, whose fans are convinced she’s getting back together with her ex Scott Disick, revealed all in a candid chat with Vogue Arabia.

“I have been filming the show non-stop for 13 years, 19 seasons and six spin-off seasons,” she explained to the publication.

The star then revealed that the real reason behind her departure from the series was because she realised she was in a “toxic environment”.

Kourtney, who recently took her ex Scott out for a lunch date after his split from Sofia Richie, added: “I was feeling unfulfilled and it became a toxic environment for me to continue to have it occupy as much of my life as it was.”

The reality star also explained that she no longer wanted her life to be televised as she wanted more privacy.

“Privacy is something I have come to value and finding that balance of private moments with being on a reality show is hard.”

Leaving KUWTK doesn’t mean the Poosh founder doesn’t want to work though, as she continued: “People have this misconception that I don’t want to work, which isn’t true.

“I am following my happiness and putting my energy into that which makes me happy.”

Kourtney went on to open up about how she parents her three children Mason, 10, Penelope, seven, and five year old Reign, as she explained that she tries to avoid using her phone as much as possible when she’s around them.

“I always try my absolute best when I’m with my kids not to be on my phone, to be present in what we’re doing, and have those moments where you’re looking in each other’s eyes and connecting. It’s so important,” she said.

The TV personality previously opened up about her decision to leave the series as she explained on Twitter that it is a result of “years of build up” and that she’s grown from her past mistakes.

The latest season aired on 2 April in America, but Kourtney said she would not be live tweeting the show as she wanted to spend quality time with her children Mason, 10, Penelope, seven, and five year old Reign.

Revealing the news on her Twitter feed, she wrote: “I won’t be live tweeting #KUWTK tonight, as I’m spending time with my kids while they are on spring break.”

Referring to her fight with her sister Kim, where she questioned Kourtney’s work ethic, she continued: “I realize that a lot of the conversation right now surrounds my work ethic, and I feel like I need to just make one thing clear: raising children is a job as well. (sic)

“In fact, it’s the hardest and most rewarding job that I have ever had. I’ve decided to put my focus on my kids and my lifestyle brand, Poosh, which is all about finding YOUR healthy balance for living your best life.

“I don’t judge anyone who chooses a different route, and I hope that everyone can appreciate my choices as well. With love, Kourt”.
