Laura Whitmore looks in shock as Lorraine Kelly appears to accidentally announce her unborn baby’s gender

Laura Whitmore looked in shock on Thursday morning as Lorraine Kelly appeared to let slip the gender of her unborn baby.

The 35 year old is currently expecting her first child with husband Iain Stirling, 33, and has not announced the gender of their child.

But as Love Island host Laura spoke to Lorraine on her mononymous daytime show, the Scottish host appeared to accidentally tell the nation Laura’s news.

As Lorraine began her chat with Laura, she asked her about her new book, No One Can Change Your Life Except For You, which promotes female positivity.

Lorraine, 61, said: “This book this comes from personal experience, it’s lessons you have learnt along the way, isn’t it? And also advice you want to pass on to your baby girl.”

Laura’s eyes widened as she stumbled: “Yeah, erm, well my baby, erm, yeah…” as she continued to discuss the book and point out that it wasn’t written when she knew she was pregnant.

Laura, who is set to give birth in the coming weeks, recently revealed she won’t be giving up work once her bundle of joy arrives.

Speaking to The Telegraph, she said: “All my friends from school are doctors or teachers.

“The fact that I even thought it was possible to go off and work at MTV came from my mum because her attitude was: ‘If you want to, then why not?’

“When people ask if I’m going to give up work this year because of the baby, I’m like, ‘Why? Mum did it in ’80s Ireland!'”

Laura’s unwillingness to give up work comes as good news for Love Island fans, as it becomes increasingly likely that the show will return this summer.

ITV boss Kevin Lygo said on Thursday: “There’s so much to look forward to on ITV this spring and into summer, with the Euros and the return of Love Island, but much more besides.”
