Diablo 2 Resurrected: Four new Runewords introduced


With patch 2.4, Diablo 2 gets comprehensive balance changes for the first time in over 17 years. This also includes new rune words, four of which have now been officially introduced.

Diablo 2: Resurrected has updated the graphics of the classic, but the content of the game has not changed for more than ten years. In fact, new content like runewords hasn’t been seen for a full 17 years.

However, the upcoming update 2.4 and the associated start of the season will finally bring a breath of fresh air to the dusty metagame.

New rune words after 17 years

The runeword Unbending Will // Indomitable Will attracts attention for two reasons. For one, the rune word is with case very affordable as the highest rune. This makes the runeword a good option for barbarians who have just reached endgame.

On the other hand, the rune word convinces with full 330 percent increased damage and has a chance to trigger Scorn abilities. Mercenaries in particular would benefit from this, as they can reliably attract the attention of opponents. You can find an overview of all previous rune words in our article.

Fans of the first hour may still remember the rune word pattern // pattern, which was always included in the Diablo 2 code but was not enabled in the game itself. It is not yet known when Patch 2.4 will officially appear. A public test server is currently running to test the new features within a limited framework. However, we assume that the coveted update will go live in spring 2022.
