Investing.com – In one of his usual and famous tweets, Tesla boss Elon Musk (NASDAQ:), again brought up the yesterday.

Participating in a wave of humor and memes involving fast food chain McDonald’s and the current cryptocurrency plunge, Elon Musk said:

“I will eat a Happy Meal on TV if McDonald’s (NYSE:) accepts Dogecoin”

Studying the short-term charts of Dogecoin shows that the cryptocurrency reacted strongly to the posting of the tweet, rising from $0.1350 to peak at $0.15 within minutes, an 11% rise. And while DOGE has since corrected, it retains most of yesterday’s gains as of this writing at $0.1440.

Recall that Elon Musk’s previous tweet mentioning Dogecoin had a much greater impact on the crypto, which jumped 25% after confirmation that Tesla now accepts payment in Dogecoin for certain goods. Finally, to explain Musk’s tweet yesterday, the fall in cryptocurrencies in recent weeks has led to a wave of memes and jokes involving McDonald’s. Indeed, influencers and crypto investors are posting humorous memes about the need to find a job in the fast food chain in the face of major losses in the cryptocurrency markets.

Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, whose country has invested heavily in and made it legal tender, also joined in on this trend a few days ago, posting a photo montage of himself as a McDonald’s employee as the Bitcoin was crashing:
