If you want to give an older smart TV or a newer TV set additional functions, you can now buy new Fire TV sticks from Amazon. Even the Lite model for around 29 euros already offers HDR and Dolby Atmos, 4K with all the chicanery is available for just under 39 euros.
Amazon has introduced new Fire TV sticks for streaming films, series or videos. On the one hand, the standard Fire TV Stick model is being relaunched and should now offer 50 percent more processor power. On the other hand, there is the new Fire TV Stick Lite, which rounds off the product range at the bottom.
The lite version only costs around 29 euros. There is full HD resolution (up to 60 frames per second) and support for HDR high-contrast images. The Alexa voice remote control, which is common with Fire TVs, is a bit stripped down.
Lite model with HDR plus Dolby Atmos
With the revised Fire TV Stick, which costs around 40 euros, buyers also receive full HD resolution (up to 60 frames per second) and support for HDR. In addition, there is the surround sound format Dolby Atmos. In addition, the included Alexa voice remote control offers dedicated buttons for switching on, regulating the volume and muting compatible TVs, soundbars and AV receivers.

Ultra HD resolution is reserved for the Fire TV Stick 4K, which costs around 58 euros and which Amazon continues to offer. The new sticks should be available from next week (week 40).
Renovated surface
Amazon has also revised the Fire TV interface. The main menu is now in the middle of the screen. In addition, the search function has been improved so that you can now search for film genres such as comedy or horror as well as for categories such as family or apps.
For the Alexa voice control of Fire TV, up to six user profiles can now be created. There is also a new, dedicated Alexa area in which personalized information can be displayed, such as the weather or share prices.
Automatically delete Alexa requests
With the automatic deletion of voice recordings, Amazon has also introduced a new data protection option for Alexa. If this setting is activated, according to the information, all recordings that have already been saved should be deleted.
And in the future, new recordings of Alexa requests should always be deleted immediately after processing. The new auto-delete setting can be activated in the Alexa app under "More / Settings / Alexa data protection / Manage your Alexa data".
