Dresden goes under in Ingolstadt
Nuremberg gives itself a Dovedan three-pack
At the ghost game in Aue, three hits were scored early on. Little happens after that. Only Niklola Dovedan meets again. His three hits lead the Franks back towards the top of the table. Paderborn gives away important points and Ingolstadt, bottom of the table, does a remarkable thing against Dresden.
Erzgebirge Aue – 1. FC Nürnberg 1: 3 (1: 2)
1. FC Nürnberg is continuing its constant ups and downs in the second Bundesliga and, with a success at the end of the year, has once again moved up to third place in the table. The Franconians won 3-1 (2-1) on matchday 18 at Erzgebirge Aue thanks to a three-pack from Nikola Dovedan, and victories and defeats for Nürnberg have been alternating reliably since the beginning of November.
In Aue, Dovedan (2nd / 22nd) scored twice for the club in the first half, Jan Hochscheidt (8th) meanwhile equalized. Dovedan’s third goal made everything clear in the closing stages (81st).
On Saturday lunchtime, the win with 30 points was initially enough for promotion relegation rank three, but Hamburger SV and Schalke 04 (both 29) will meet in the evening (8.30 p.m. / Sky). At least one of the teams will pass by.
The Austrian Dovedan was in the Nuremberg starting XI for the first time in a month, the decision of coach Robert Klauss paid off after just over a minute: Dovedan scored after a corner, only a little later he also had the chance to make it 2-0 (5th) . Nürnberg continued to attack early and had the majority of the chances, the target player was always Dovedan, the brace was complete after 22 minutes – but it should not stay that way
FC Ingolstadt – Dynamo Dresden 3: 0 (2: 0)
The bottom of the table FC Ingolstadt has sent a sign of life in the relegation battle under the new coach Rüdiger Rehm. Against Dynamo Dresden, after twelve games without a win, the 3-0 (2-0) achieved another three. Nico Antonitsch was successful in the first minute of the opening goal for the Schanzer.
An own goal by Kevin Ehlers (17th) made it 2-0 for the home side. This was preceded by a header from Stefan Kutschke, who with Ehler’s help maneuvered the ball over the goal line. Filip Bilbija (86.) scored after video evidence for the final score for the Schanzer. In the first game at FCI, Rehm had a 1: 2 against Hannover 96 a week ago.
The success against Dynamo was only the second win of the season for the newcomer, who, however, is still seven points behind the relegation position 16. Despite the defeat, the Dresdeners are still placed in the secure midfield.
The early leadership made the Schanzer appear more self-confident and even more compact. Dresden, which had recently celebrated two victories in a row, did not seem solid in defense and allowed itself to be disturbed by simple ball relays.
SC Paderborn – 1. FC Heidenheim 1: 2 (0: 0)
The SC Paderborn is on the spot and was without a win for the fifth time in a row. In the home game against 1. FC Heidenheim, Ostwestfalen had to admit defeat 1: 2 (0: 0). Patrick Mainka (63rd) brought Heidenheim into the lead, but Jonas Carls (65th) almost equalized 1: 1 in return. Tim Kleindienst (81st) marked the renewed opening goal for the guests, who are now three points ahead of Paderborn in fourth place in the table.
Once again it became clear that the SCP is to be assessed much more strongly, especially away from home. While the ex-Bundesliga team has already scored 18 points away from home, there are only nine points at home. For the FCH it was the first win against the Paderborn team. Of the eight comparisons between the two teams, five ended in a draw, and Paderborn won twice. Heidenheim acted very energetically in the duels and was also able to tactically prevent the home side’s dangerous, fast switching game. Paderborn tried again and again, but could hardly find any gaps in the defense of the 1st FCH.
It took until the 34th minute before SCP striker Sven Michel had the first good chance on the foot. However, Heidenheim’s keeper Kevin Müller had no problem parrying the ball. Six minutes later, guest player Dzenis Burnic had a good opportunity, but goalkeeper Jannik Huth was there too and blocked the shot.
