Dunja Hayali: She has to stop shooting on Corona demo

Presenter Dunja Hayali shows on Instagram what she and a ZDF team experience at a Corona demo in Berlin. The filming was canceled.

A demonstration took place in Berlin on Saturday (August 1st). People took to the streets against the corona restrictions. It is estimated that around 20,000 people took part. Presenter and journalist Dunja Hayali (46) was also on site with a ZDF team. On her official Instagram account, she published a video with impressions. The 37-minute clip shows how the demonstrators react to Hayali's presence – including hostilities and threats, so that the shooting was stopped.

"Obviously that's part of it now"

In the video you can hear, for example, how various demonstrators call Hayali and her team "Lügenpresse", "Haut ab" and "Ashamed of you". Again and again the ZDF moderator is approached and there are heated discussions. Finally, the 46-year-old says: "So, and we're going to stop now. That's what the security guard says, we're not here without security. Aborting the shoot, too dangerous."

Also clearly visible in the video: Hardly anyone of the demonstrators keeps their distance or wears a mask. Due to the violation of the hygiene rules in the afternoon, the demo is declared to be over, and the subsequent rally will also be dissolved in the early evening.

Dunja Hayali's conclusion is quite sobering. "All the insults and threats that unfortunately existed in between are obviously part of the meantime if you go somewhere and ask quite frankly (…)", said the moderator. But she also says: "We must not be intimidated as a press. We have to go here, we have to report, we have to show what is. And yes, you also need a thick coat."
