A well-known grandma’s remedy, egg hair masks are still very popular natural treatments for nourishing and repairing the hair. Obviously, they are full of benefits! We’ll show you why it’s worth trying them, with our recipes for all hair types!

We know it is capable of pampering the skin of our face when used as a mask to hydrate our face or to make homemade anti-blackhead patches, but the egg has more than one turn in its yolk and its white when it comes to our beauty. Proteins (including eight essential amino acids), vitamins (including vitamins A, D, E, B2, B5, B9, B12), minerals (such as zinc, iron, potassium, phosphorus): the egg is simply a compendium of elements that are good for the hair fiber, and therefore for the health and beauty of our hair. It moisturizes, nourishes and strengthens lengths to prevent breakage and split ends, makes them shiny and soft, and even helps stimulate hair growth to let us flaunt dreamy lengths.
Easy to use, it reveals various benefits depending on how it is used to take care of our strands, and has the advantage of being a cheap ingredient that we usually have all on hand. Economical and practical: all it took was all that was needed for the egg to establish itself as the ideal natural ingredient for the preparation of our own homemade hair treatments and masks.

Which part of the egg is good for the hair?

Both ! White or yellow, the two parts of the egg can be useful to pamper your hair. The lutein in egg yolks helps strengthen and regenerate hair, while the proteins and water that make up egg white hydrate and nourish the hair in addition to making it shiny.

How to use the egg on the hair?

From a purely practical point of view: simply by breaking one or two to keep the yolk (s) and / or the white (s), and by mixing it (s) with a few ingredients natural hair plucked from your kitchen to concoct a homemade hair treatment. A real child’s play!
Regarding its different uses, if it is its use as a hair mask that interests us here, also know that the egg can also be used to create a natural shampoo that is easy to make.

Finally, in the case of egg masks more precisely, it will be necessary to revise your hair routine a little because this type of mask must generally be carried out before the shampoo in order to be able to rinse the egg correctly. Your care home-made will therefore upset your habits a little.

How to make homemade egg shampoo?

If we have revealed the thousand and one facets of its use as a hair mask, the oldest and known use of the egg in the hair routine remains egg shampoo.
Moisturizing and purifying, the egg allows us to gently cleanse our hair, whatever its type, and to provide appreciable care to the lengths to make them soft and shiny. To make it, just beat two to three whole eggs (depending on the length of your hair) then use the beaten eggs as a shampoo. Nothing’s easier ! Thanks to the lecithin in the egg, you can emulsify your shampoo with a little water when washing. The only precaution to take: do not use too hot water in the shower, otherwise the egg could start to “cook” and this would not facilitate rinsing.
