Eric Zemmour, “the most beautiful Republican example”: Fred Hermel once again criticized after his comments in Les Grandes gueules

In Les Grandes Gueules on RMC this Monday, December 27, Fred Hermel once again suffered the wrath of Internet users after having praised Eric Zemmour.

On the occasion of the end of the year celebrations, Eric Zemmour confided in the fireside on his childhood, for the needs of his presidential campaign. “I lived in the suburbs. The buildings were ugly but I have only good memories. The human atmosphere was warm and very French,” says the far-right candidate. A story about his “modest” origins which probably convinced Fred Hermel, journalist in Les Grandes Gueules, on RMC. The Spanish football expert even went so far as to praise the far-right candidate, which earned him admonitions from the plateau, but also from internet users on social networks. “Of all the great candidates, the best example of Republican merit is Eric Zemmour“, said Fred Hermel before adding:”It is he who comes from the most modest background, it is the best example of meritocracy. Before, he had never dared to highlight his childhood when it could serve him electorally. “ A point of view not shared by the rest of the plateau, and in particular by Charles Consigny, who has little taste for Eric Zemmour’s strategy. “There’s a Fred thing called cream pies. So you make them at home and you leave them in your fridge instead of coming here to feed them to us. Republican merit is like culture, the less we have, the more we spread ite “, launched the young man to his colleague. Then he continued, about the extreme right candidate:”He must stop telling us that he comes from a modest background, he’s been away for a long time, that he’s a big bourgeois. Our role is not to swallow the big strings with which they want to convince us and I see that Zemmour is campaigning with very big strings. He’s quite a disconnected person who campaigns with his heavy strings. I don’t blame him for making money, it’s normal, it’s his job, but he should stop repeating to us fifteen times in the same sentence that he does not come from the upper quarters.

Fred Hermel: this like that did not pass on Twitter

One thing is certain, the intervention of Fred Hermel revives the criticisms already launched against the journalist last September, when the latter had been accused of racism after liking a tweet from Eric Zemmour in which the latter declares that he “will ban non-French first names like Mohamed“if he is elected.
