Fans of "Euphoria" can look forward to seeing the second special episode in Germany soon. Warning, season one spoilers.

Fans of "Euphoria" are used to drama not only because of the series content. It has now been more than a year since the first season finale was shown on Sky Atlantic for the first time. Since November 2019, because of the still angry corona pandemic and the resulting delay in rotation, it has been said that the fate of Rue Bennett (Zendaya, 24, "Spider-Man: Homecoming") and Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer, 21) fear.

Two special sequences shorten the waiting time

HBO originally planned to release season two in 2020 – it is now completely uncertain when it will appear. In order to shorten the waiting time, "Euphoria" showrunner, screenwriter and director Sam Levinson (36) donated two special episodes to the fans. The first, called "Trouble Don't Last Always", was released in the original version in mid-December 2020.

As has now been revealed, special episode two will be made available via Sky Ticket this Saturday (January 23), just a few hours after the US premiere. Like the previous special episode, it was filmed under Covid-19 guidelines and is like a chamber play in which the characters are fully in focus.

Does love always find a way?

"Euphoria" is about the 17 year old high school student Rue Bennett. She has been on drugs since her father died from cancer when Rue was only 13 years old. One day she meets the bisexual, transgender Jules and gets along with her immediately. And it doesn't take long before affection becomes love …

With the final episode of the first season called "And this whole rage" it was apparently broken again, the love between Rue and Jules. Instead of leaving town together, as she had suggested herself, Rue backed off at the last second and Jules drove off alone on the train. The last scene showed how this stroke of fate drove Rue back into her drug addiction, which she had to struggle with during the entire first eight episodes.

Two perspectives, one problem

The first special episode then revolved around the question of how Rue has processed the breakup. The second main character was her anti-drug advisor Ali (Colman Domingo, 51), who had previously played a minor role in several episodes. In "Trouble Don't Last Always" he not only had a philosophical conversation with the relapsed Rue, the viewer also learned more about his drug past – and how he could overcome it.

For special episode two, for which the lead actress Schafer also worked on the script, the perspective changes to Jules. She too processed the past year in a conversation. The dialogue with her psychologist is mainly about her love for Rue and the tragic end of their relationship. Can you and Rue still have a future together? As I said, when the fans will find out is completely open.
