On Monday, a new Corona regulation will come into force in the German state of Baden-Württemberg directly behind the Swiss border. Thanks to the persistently low contagion rates, this has led to massive easing in the region in particular.
For example, when shopping, doing sports, in the swimming pool or in the restaurant, special rules no longer apply from next week. In the open air, major events with up to 1,500 people are again possible without any additional requirements. Up to 500 people are allowed in closed rooms who do not have to be tested, vaccinated or recovered. Only the mask remains a constant companion.
“We have suffered”
This makes the region much more attractive as an excursion destination for the Swiss in one fell swoop. One is particularly happy about that in the Europapark in Rust (D), around an hour’s drive across the border. The upcoming easing is “like Easter and Christmas together,” says spokesman Dieter Borer to Blick.
Over 50,000 people flocked to the amusement park every day in normal years. The Swiss market in particular has collapsed completely in the last few months. “In particular, the requirement that children also had to show a negative test has deterred many Swiss families from visiting,” says Borer.
The only thing left of the strict rules is the mask requirement in closed rooms and in places where the minimum distance cannot be observed. Borer from Europapark told Blick: “We suffered. But we very much hope that we can now welcome many Swiss people again. ”
Delta variant is a danger for the easing
So that the easing in southern Germany continues and the regained freedoms do not have to give way to protective measures, the number of cases must not exceed a certain incidence value in the region.

The increasingly widespread delta variant of the coronavirus could become a danger. In addition to scientists, the German Chancellor has once again urged caution. Because despite the currently falling incidence values, the new and apparently more contagious virus variant is clearly on the advance. A fourth wave would then in all likelihood also result in tougher measures. (cat)
