Europe’s largest cannabis marketplace on the Darknet closes after 675 days

Probably the most popular Darknet forum “Torrez” closes 675 days after its opening. Torrez was the only marketplace that accepts the cryptocurrencies Bitcoin, Monero, Zcash and Litecoin. Many different illegal offers have been traded on Torrez. According to anonymous information, the platform operated the largest cannabis trade in Europe.

According to the operators, the black market should remain online for at least two to three weeks (onion link) so that purchases can still be completed. However, registration, an upgrade to a seller account and trading are no longer possible. According to their own statements, the operators of Torrez cannot help if users lose their access data, passwords and keys. They also point out that phishing is the reason for not receiving payments or goods – the platform is also powerless against this.

Although Torrez will soon no longer exist, the operators might return with something else. “The whole world is going green. Maybe we will join this trend at some point;]”, says the operator Mrblonde. If you want to tell him something else, you can do so using the Reddit equivalent Dread to do. In order not to fall for imitators, the keys used should be compared with the known ones.

Mrblonde gives the previous Torrez customers well-intentioned advice on the way that they should use their “common sense” when choosing a new store and should better switch to smaller stores, as larger ones would be more likely to close.
