Actress Evan Rachel Wood gave a chilling testimony in the documentary Phoenix Rising, on HBO. She claims that her ex-boyfriend Marilyn Manson raped her in front of the cameras while filming a clip.

In February 2021, actress Evan Rachel Wood accused her ex-boyfriend, Marilyn Manson, of rape when she was 19 at the time of the alleged events. In a documentary broadcast on HBO, Phoenix Rising, she returned to these accusations and evoked marital rape during the filming of a clip of the singer, “Heart-Shaped Glasses”released in 2007. “We had talked about a fake sex scene. But when the cameras were rolling, he started actually penetrating me”she confided. “I had never agreed to that. (…) I was forced into a commercial sex act under a false pretext. (…) I was raped in front of a camera. It was total chaos. I didn’t feel safe. Nobody cared about me. I can tell the team was very embarrassed and nobody knew what to do.”she added.

“I didn’t know how to defend myself or how to say no because I had been conditioned and trained never to answer. I disgusted myself and told myself that I had done something shameful. (…) that’s when the first crime was committed against me.” The documentary also mentions the fact that Marilyn Manson allegedly pressured the actress to tell reporters that the sex scenes were faked. “I was supposed to tell people we had a romantic time when none of it was true”said Evan Rachel Wood.
