(Boursier.com) — Unemployment claims fell more than expected last week in the United States. The US Department of Labor has just announced, for the week ending February 17, that unemployment claims amounted to 201,000, down 12,000 compared to the previous week. The consensus was positioned at 217,000.

The four-week average stands at 215,250, down 3,500. Finally, the number of unemployed people receiving compensation for the week ending February 10 stood at 1.862 million, down 26,000 over seven days (1.885 million consensus).
