FameMaker: That's how Stefan Raab is involved in the new show

On September 17th the new music show "FameMaker" devised by Stefan Raab starts. So he gets involved behind the scenes.

The next music show starts: "FameMaker". The idea for the new show came from none other than TV veteran Stefan Raab (53). He also acts as a producer and is closely involved in the processes behind the scenes, like ProSieben broadcaster Daniel Rosemann and the "FameMaker" jurors Carolin Kebekus (40), Luke Mockridge (31) and Teddy Teclebrhan (37) at the official press conference on Monday (September 14th).

Stefan Raab and his "bad gags"

The concept of "FameMaker" is quickly explained. The candidates appear under a soundproof glass dome. The three prominent "FameMakers" have to decide without any sound, only based on the performance, whether they want the performer in their team. As soon as the dome rises, it is revealed whether the candidate can sing or not. The three teams compete against each other in the live final.

Stefan Raab will "not appear under the dome, in any of the programs," Daniel Rosemann clarifies. The former TV presenter has "ideas for the next 30 or 40 years". Further programs are "definitely being planned". At "FameMaker", Raab is busy behind the scenes. He was "every day at the shooting", so the station boss.

Luke Mockridge reveals that he and his colleagues have a button in their ear while the show is being recorded so that the director can communicate instructions or commercial breaks. Stefan Raab was also able to whisper bad gags in the judges' ears every minute that would not have worked even on 'TV total', "recalls Mockridge with a laugh. He calls it "a nice experience". Even as a teenager, he perceived Stefan Raab as "a legend". A few years later, "rejecting his gags" is "a blatant feeling".

Carolin Kebekus raves about the "insane energy" that showrunner Raab brings with him. He explained the concept of "FameMaker" to her on the phone, he was "totally in the mood for the show" and was fully behind the concept. Transfer this energy to everyone.

This is what the audience can expect in "FameMaker"

Presenter Tom Neuwirth (31), who won the Eurovision Song Contest for his home country Austria as the fictional character Conchita Wurst in 2014, will present "FameMaker". The fact that he does not appear as Conchita was "a very natural development". He had already "gone public with my face" during the corona lockdown. When the offer for "FameMaker" came, it was "very clear" for him to "do it that way". He does not rule out further appearances under his real name. But: "Ms. Wurst is sure to come back again sometime."

Carolin Kebekus, Luke Mockridge and Teddy Teclebrhan want to win "FameMaker" with their respective teams. "I relied fully on my intuition," says Carolin Kebekus. Her confidence in her intuition "grew" through the show, she confidently admits. Luke Mockridge even calls Kebekus' talent finding "God given". Teddy Teclebrhan certifies that his two colleagues have "the right intuition".

The big prize for the winner is "Fame". The show is supposed to "create fame", according to the broadcaster Rosemann. He or she should receive "a decent boost in awareness". This also includes the blue tick on the common social media channels. The coveted blue tick is on Instagram or Twitter for a verified account. The first episode "FameMaker" will air on Thursday, September 17th at 8:15 pm on ProSieben. Four other shows can be seen on Saturdays and Thursdays, alternating with prime time. The finals will take place on October 1st.
