“The fact is that the demos are a massive obstacle to the little business that has remained for us,” explains Gerhard Wohlmuth, chairman of the trade division of WKO Styria. “And actually for the majority of the companies it is only about damage limitation anyway.”
Countless jobs are at stake
The Styrian social partners choose more drastic words in unusual harmony: “Now Styrian companies and with them hundreds of thousands of jobs are at stake.” Chamber of Labor President Josef Pesserl, Horst Schachner (ÖGB), Chamber of Agriculture boss Franz Titschenbacher, IV President Stefan Stolitzka and WKO -Boss Josef Herk appeal to the demo participants to avoid busy shopping streets, especially on this weekend.
