CONTINUATION – Six police officers will pass before two disciplinary councils on January 4 in Bordeaux and Paris as part of the administrative procedure following the case where a man had his wife burned alive in May in the middle of the street.

Four officers and commissioners, including the Departmental Director of Public Security (DDSP) in Gironde Martin Levrel, are summoned to Paris while two brigadiers are summoned to Bordeaux. Six police officers in total will go to the disciplinary council on January 4 as part of the administrative procedure following the feminicide of Mérignac, we learned Monday from union sources.
These two brigadiers, a man and a woman, are reproached, “administrative failures” in the context of this case where a man had burned his wife alive in the middle of the street last May, explained Eric Marrocq, Alliance regional secretary, who assures us that “The study of the file in the disciplinary committee will make it possible to remove the doubts as to their impartiality and their professionalism”.
“Looking forward to washing their honor”
“They have received their summons (…), they have agreed to appear. They will try to get through the holidays as best they can and are eager to wash their honor”, added the union official. Among the four hierarchical superiors summoned to Paris, three men and one woman, appear, in addition to the DDSP, the commander of the West Division and his deputy as well as the commissioner of Mérignac.
On May 4, in this city on the outskirts of Bordeaux, Chahinez Daoud was shot and killed before being set on fire in the street by her violent husband from whom she was separated. Convicted of domestic violence, the latter, who had just come out of prison, had again threatened his wife. She had filed a complaint two months before being killed.

In September, a report from the IGPN, the “font of fonts”, had established that mistakes or errors of appreciation had been committed by several agents within the framework of this feminicide which had triggered a wave of emotion.
Earlier in the summer, the Canard Enchaîné revealed that the Mérignac police officer who took up Ms. Daoud’s complaint on March 15 was sentenced on February 10 to eight months in prison with a probationary suspension by the Bordeaux Criminal Court for ” usual violence on his ex-wife “. A disciplinary council met in September in Bordeaux to examine his case. According to union sources, the fact that this peacekeeper was deprived by the court of his right to stand for election for a year led to his removal from the national police. Another consequence of this case, the former DDSP of Gironde Patrick Mairesse was punished with a reprimand, without disciplinary notice, according to these same sources.
