Fidelio: Philips will fill its range of speakers with three new multiroom models

After a short excursion into nomadic audio, the famous Fidelio range from Philips will return to the living room with three new multiroom speakers: the FB1 soundbar, the subwoofer FW1 and the FS1 wireless speaker.

Philips showed its ambitions for the coming year during its conference broadcast a few hours ago: returning to both home cinema and gyms. To fulfill this first objective, the manufacturer has already taken the lead and has succinctly unveiled three products that will fill the Fidelio catalog next June and September.

The Fidelio FB1 soundbar is an all-in-one model that incorporates a slew of speakers: three dedicated (midrange/tweeter/midrange) for each front channel (left, center and right), two placed on the sides of the bar for surround effects, two others for Dolby Atmos elevation effects as well as two bass speakers.

Philips does not yet give precise information concerning the sound claims of its bar, or even its functionalities, but mentions a few materials used (metal grille, brushed aluminum, leather covering). We also know that the bar will be able to communicate with the two other elements presented, the FW1 and FS1, and probably other compatible ones in the future thanks to the Fidelio multiroom wireless system (based on the DTS Play-Fi protocol), to create a home-cinema set 7.1.4.

The active and wireless Fidelio FW1 subwoofer benefits from the same finishes as the FB1 soundbar. This consists of a woofer 8 inches, placed on its lower surface, and two passive radiators mounted on its left and right sides.

The Fidelio FS1 is a small three-way wireless speaker comprising a tweeter, a speaker dedicated to the reproduction of midrange and another for bass (the latter being coupled with two passive radiators to flatter the lowest frequencies). The speaker can be used alone, in stereo with a second similar speaker, or as a satellite speaker with the FB1 soundbar in the Fidelio multiroom system. Small luminous bonus: its rear side incorporates LEDs that can be synchronized with the Ambilight technology of Philips televisions.

The Fidelio FB1, FW1 and FS1 speakers will be launched priced at €800, €800 and €300 respectively. Their arrival on the market will be gradual: the sound bar and the subwoofer will land in June, while the FS1 wireless speaker will show up in September.
