Fire in the center – 16 fire brigades demanded for a fire in Ulrichsberg

Difficult extinguishing work in Ulrichsberg: At 6.52 p.m. the emergency services received the emergency call, 16 fire brigades were immediately called to the fire and alarm level 3 was triggered. Even weirs from neighboring Germany and the Czech Republic are deployed.

A fire in an agricultural property was the alert for the fire brigades in Ulrichsberg on Saturday evening. After the fire was located in the densely built-up community center, 16 fire brigades were called to the scene. A total of 13 Austrian fire brigades as well as 2 fire brigades from Germany and one fire brigade from the Czech Republic are involved in the extinguishing work. Protecting the neighboring buildings had top priority during the initial extinguishing work. In order to secure the continuous extinguishing work, some farmers were organized with their liquid manure barrels to transport extinguishing water towards the fire object. A particular challenge was extinguishing the extensive fire and the simultaneous evacuation of the 35 cattle in the barn. Approximately 250 firefighters are on duty. According to the Red Cross, there are no injuries.
