Flexibility at work, favorable to the economy and to workers, according to the ILO


The report focuses on the effects of working time on business performance.

The Covid-19 epidemic has not only had negative effects. It has led to the development of more flexible working hours all over the world. And this mode of organization is beneficial for the economy, companies and workers, assures the International Labor Organization (ILO) in a study on the balance between work and private life.

By putting into practice the lessons learned from the health crisis, by observing the organization of working time and its overall duration, “we can create a win-win scenario” which improves “both business performance and work-life balance”, says Jon Messenger, lead author of the report.
