Invited on RTL, Tuesday, June 21, the deputy from the North shared his analyzes on the summoning of party leaders today by the president, the social and economic program of the NUPES, but also his questions about a motion of censorship targeting Elisabeth Borne.
Fabien Roussel returned, today, on RTL to the summoning of the leaders of each party by Emmanuel Macron after the results of the second round of the legislative elections: “I am received as party leader – there is still the Communist Party in this country, fortunately – and it’s a good thing that he can listen to all of us. »
He also made a point following the request of France Insoumise to form only one NUPES group in the National Assembly: “We made an electoral agreement with a view to the legislative elections, which allowed us to than doubling the number of leftist and ecologist deputies. However, this agreement also provides for common measures that we will defend and differences on certain subjects. This difference is a wealth, there is not a single group. »
The deputy added that “it is important that there are four left-wing groups in the National Assembly” and that “the French expect strong measures for wages and pensions. “For him, there is” a lot of anger against the President of the Republic, who is waiting […] In July, do we put on the agenda a 15% increase in the minimum wage and all salaries, the price freeze? »
“I do not understand this motion of censure” says the elected communist
Fabien Roussel highlighted the fact that “today, the French want their wages and their purchasing power to increase, that food and pump prices go down”, castigating the government’s policy in this regard. “If the government continues with its policy of small checks, we are going straight into the wall. Employers are really going to have a hard time finding employees if wages are not increased significantly and work is not upgraded. »
However, he tempered his remarks: “I will tell him that we should not be afraid of the blocking of institutions because he does not have a majority. I propose to increase the minimum wage immediately, there will be the majority of leftist deputies who will support it […] We demand that the president hear what is being said in the country […] It has to move right away. The president did not have the majority, this is the first time that this has happened in 25 years. »
Regarding the motion of censure instigated by LFI and targeting Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, the Communist was more conciliatory: “I was not consulted. We have a group and we are going to meet tomorrow with the overseas deputies and it is the possibility for them to be in a group where they have their place. As always, we will collectively decide whether to join forces or not. He then continued: “I do not understand this motion of censure because there is a general policy speech submitted to a vote by the Assembly and if there is nothing in the speech, we will vote against it. »
The deputy from the North will therefore wait for the general policy speech: “I say that Elisabeth Borne must present a copy that is in line with what the French expect. There is a lot of expectation and anger. If she remains on the presidential or legislative speeches, she will be beaten. But it has the possibility of changing, it is not blocked. I’m waiting to see the general political discourse before saying that it’s not good. »
