Torrent Compact and Torrent Nano, Fractal Design intends to offer the best in terms of cooling.
Two new models of different sizes for the Torrent range, which put the odds on their side to keep what they contain as fresh as possible.
A little breeze of fresh air
Let’s start with the smallest new in the range, aptly called Torrent Nano. Despite its 41 cm in length, 22 cm in width and 37 cm in height, this case in mITX / mDTX format promises for its size an optimized airflow with small onions.
This notably involves an open grille at the front comprising a 180 mm Dynamic PWM fan stamped Fractal Design with proven efficiency many times over. To impress the gallery, there is a Prisma RGB variant. Around its perimeter, the housing has easily accessible dust filters for cleaning at the front and rear.
Inside, the Torrent Nano does not lack space, despite its small size. It can indeed easily accommodate three graphics cards with a length of 33 cm thanks to dedicated brackets. Similarly, specially dedicated brackets can accommodate two 2.5″ SSDs.
If airflow cooling isn’t enough, the Torrent Nano has built-in support for a water-cooling reservoir. Finally, the right part of the case has everything you need for perfect cable management via a removable panel.
Compact Cooling
Then comes its big brother, the Torrent Compact, compatible E-ATX/ATX/Mini-ITX/SSI-CEB. With its 45 cm in length, 22 cm in width and 46 cm in height, this case offers even more space to let the components it houses breathe, but always with a perfectly optimized air flow as a watchword. .
Given its greater height, it can accommodate an additional 180 mm fan (stamped Fractal Design) at the front. For the rest, the design of the Torrent Compact is more or less the same as that of its little brother, but necessarily more efficient in what it seeks to accomplish.
These two new models of the Torrent range are offered in different colors, with the option or not to replace the left panel with a tempered glass window. The Torrent Nano and Torrent Compact boxes are already available from sworn retailers, respectively from 149.90 and 169.90 euros.
