The France team faces Germany in Lyon this Saturday evening, with kick-off at 9 p.m. Less than three months before the start of the Euro, Didier Deschamps’ players will be able to test themselves and confirm their rise in power against a historic opponent, lacking in results.

France-Germany is always an event. We remember Seville 82 but also the defeat of the Blues in 2014 in the quarter-finals of the World Cup and the success of the French against the Mannschaft in the semi-finals of Euro 2016. But last September, in a match friendly in Dortmund, it was the Germans who won. “We will want to redeem ourselves after the defeat against Germany,” assures Adrien Rabiot on Europe 1, while the two nations face each other this Saturday evening in Lyon in a friendly (kick-off 9 p.m.).

“We are keen to redeem ourselves”, agrees Adrien Rabiot

Germany is the only team to have beaten the Blues since the 2022 World Cup. This Saturday evening, the French will be keen to take their revenge, as explained by the Juventus midfielder from Turin, invited this Saturday of Legends Studio against Jacques Vendroux: “It’s very important, it’s a high-level team. We lost the last confrontation against Germany, we are keen to redeem ourselves. And then the Euro takes place in Germany, we will want to do well in this match and prepare well to win the match.”

For this 34th France-Germany in history, the French team, which will play without Antoine Griezmann, is on a good dynamic, the complete opposite of Germany. The four-time world champions actually changed coach a few months ago (Julian Nagelsmann was appointed in September 2023) and lost their last two matches against Austria and Turkey.

Germany will also be reduced for this meeting since Thomas Müller’s teammates will play this Saturday evening without their emblematic goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, who is currently injured.
