Françoise Hardy worried about Jacques Dutronc: “He is more fragile than he looks…”

In the context of an interview granted to the JDD on Sunday April 9, 2023, the singer Françoise Hardy confided in the subject of the state of health of Jacques Dutronc, and did not hide her concern about it.

A true living legend of the French music scene, Francoise Hardy has become extremely discreet in the media. As a reminder, the mother of Thomas Dutronc has been suffering from cancer for several years. It was on the antenna of RTL that she had indicated in 2019 that the treatment intended to cure this disease had made him deaf in one ear. Françoise Hardy had also explained that it would henceforth be impossible for her to sing, thus implying that his musical career had come to an end. Asked by the JDD Sunday April 9, 2023, the musician did not comment on her state of health, but rather on that of his former companion, Jacques Dutronc.

He worries me especially because he is more fragile than he looks, and I hope he will be able to respect my ban on leaving before me.“, she said. For the record, Françoise Hardy shared the life of Jacques Dutronc from 1967 to the 1990s. Together, the couple gave birth to Thomas Dutronc, who followed in the footsteps of his parents, becoming a musician in turn. Françoise Hardy also mentioned her son during this same interview. “I don’t know Thomas by heart and he surprises me all the time. I greatly admire his qualities of kindness, delicacy, humility, humor, intelligence, but also his talent“, she revealed.

Françoise Hardy: “France is latecomer on so many levels”

He works a lot, he made incredible progress in guitar and wrote and/or composed timeless songs that upset me like Sesame, Come to my island, I’m not from here and many others…“, also added Françoise Hardy. Because of her cancer of the larynx, the singer had asked for the right to euthanasia in France in the past. “Not helping someone who is suffering the martyrdom of an incurable disease to leave has always seemed inhuman to me.“, she underlined, while affirming that: “France is late in so many ways“, and that he was “high time she got rid of some religious prejudices“.

In the past, I was also an avid viewer of Star Academy on TF1, but also of the Saturday trilogy on M6. Today the world of the media no longer has any secrets for me… or almost.
