Modern Microsoft operating systems have been able to handle PDF files since Windows 8. Opening the documents and creating them under Windows 10 and Windows 11 is no problem. Because of this, external PDF applications have a difficult time. On several tabs you can create new PDFs in a more diverse way than with Windows – from scratch, from a file or on the basis of the Windows / RAM clipboard. Conversions are possible, among other things, from PDF to Word (and vice versa thanks to a virtual PDF printer). In terms of editing, you can adjust the text in PDFs, and you can also export the images (and receive either PNGs, JPEGs, GIFs, BMPs or TIFFs).

The program displays PDF files by dragging them into its window or double-clicking them. The Soda PDF Standard open dialog is also suitable for viewing documents. You can use it to transport the files you want into the application. At least PDFs with editable text can be changed on the “Edit” tab: Here you can add words, replace existing ones and remove unwanted passages. If you want to create your own PDFs, you can do it from scratch using a blank page or by converting a file. Alternatively, you can use one of the creation features “Scan to PDF” and “Clipboard to PDF”. The “Merge” function turns several PDFs into a single document. Conversely, you share PDFs with another button: You receive several new ones based on one file, which contain the content of the source content.
Compression of PDF files is possible. There is also a print function: if you virtually print a PDF into a new PDF file with Ctrl-P, a grayscale option can be activated with a click of the mouse. The new document no longer has any colors, but is a little narrower in terms of memory size.

Install and activate Soda PDF
The “Welcome to Soda PDF” dialog appears. The software can only be put into operation if you go through the registration required here. Enter your e-mail address in the input field on the right and confirm with “Next”. Next, enter a first and last name and a password. Submit the information using “Register”. When asked whether you would like to receive e-mails about “software updates, reminders about expiration dates” and “individualized tips”, answer “no, thank you”. You will then receive an email from Soda PDF, which you open and in which you click on the linked confirmation button. In the Soda PDF setup window, click the “Confirm validation” button. A short moment later, the software should be activated and usable.
