After the market launch of the universal FritzBox 4060, AVM is now announcing the availability of the FritzBox 6690 Cable for cable Internet connections. The Wi-Fi 6 router offers data rates of up to 4.8 Gbit / s and a 2.5 Gbit LAN port. For him, 319 euros are due.
With the support of DOCSIS 3.1, the Berlin IT company’s new flagship cable achieves theoretical peak values of up to 6 Gbit / s in the downstream and up to 2 Gbit / s in the upstream Pass on 4.8 GBit / s and wired up to 2.5 GBit / s.

Customers from Germany are currently not facing this problem, however, as the maximum speed at Vodafone and Co. is usually “only” 1 GBit / s in the downstream.
More performance and future security in mesh WiFi
The advantages over the once popular top models such as the FritzBox 6591 Cable or 6660 Cable are demonstrated by the FritzBox 6690 Cable with its significantly faster or even doubled WLAN data rates in the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz band. In addition to the 2.5 Gigabit LAN port mentioned at the beginning, the router has three additional Gigabit LAN ports and two USB 3.0 interfaces for printers and storage devices (NAS).
Apart from this, the FritzBox 6690 Cable offers an integrated TV tuner for streaming the TV signal to PCs, smartphones and tablets in the home network as well as the classic advantages of a telephone system for DECT, IP and analog devices.
Among other things, it is currently possible to pre-order the new cable FritzBox from Notebooksbilliger at a manufacturer’s RRP of 319 euros *. The delivery should take place promptly.
