The Disney+ hit series “Only Murders in the Building” was able to land a big fish for the third season: Hollywood star Meryl Streep plays Loretta in the series, who, funnily enough, is a failed actress. The Broadway play by Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) is said to be her breakthrough, despite her advanced age.
But it happens as it had to happen: a murder happens (as in every season of Only Murders) and the Broadway play loses the leading actor Ben (Paul Rudd). But his brother Dickie grabs Loretta as a client and gets her an important casting as her manager. In a spin-off of a spin-off of a “Grey’s Anatomy” spin-off, Loretta is set to play the limping mother of a dermatologist.
Jesse Williams loves the Grey’s Anatomy reference in Only Murders in the Building
It’s particularly funny that in season 3 of Only Murders Also starring is Jesse Williams, who played the role of Dr. on “Grey’s Anatomy” for years. Jackson played Avery and now portrays Tobert, a documentary filmmaker, in the Disney+ series. Series boss John Hoffman tells US magazine TVLine that the scene got a good laugh while talking through the episode and Williams thought the reference was great.
Unfortunately, Loretta’s role in the spin-off spin-off spin-off with the catchy name “Grey’s Burn Center for Families” came to nothing. But only because she wants to give Oliver’s musical a chance. Luckily, there’s a lot of spark between Oliver and Loretta! We look forward to more romantic moments between legends Meryl Streep and Martin Short.
