Galaxy S22 rumor: significantly more expensive than its predecessor?

The Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphones will spearhead the Korean lineup. The flagship models are expected to be presented in a few weeks, and the price of smartphones is a hotly debated topic. The leaker Snoopytech has now published a rumor on Twitter that the prices are significantly higher than previously assumed.

  • Leaker reveals possible prices for the S22 series on Twitter.
  • Information probably comes from the first list prices.
  • In addition, the Ultra model will no longer receive a 16 GB RAM version.

There are only a few weeks left until the expected launch of the Galaxy S22 and the rumor mill is running hot. So far it has been assumed that the price is based on Samsung’s previous pricing policy and that a starting price of around 850 euros is to be expected. The leaker Snoopytech, however, has now revealed other information, which should probably come from the first list prices. If the rumor turns out to be true, the S22 will be significantly more expensive than previously assumed.

According to the leaker, the prices for the S22 should look like this:

  • S22
    • 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage – 912 euros
    • 8 GB RAM / 256 GB storage – 963.50 euros
  • S22 +
    • 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage – 1,119 euros
    • 8 GB RAM / 256 GB storage – 1,170.50 euros
  • S22 Ultra
    • 12 GB RAM / 256 GB storage – 1,430 euros
    • 12 GB RAM / 512 GB storage – 1,544.50 euros

While the starting price of the Galaxy S21 at release was 849 euros, according to the information, 912 euros are required for the smallest model. The previous assumptions are completely thrown overboard and the reactions on Twitter are anything but positive. However, the leaker himself says that the prices are likely to be too high, even if the smartphones have been listed that way.

Samsung Galaxy S21

No more 16 GB of RAM for the Ultra model?

The most expensive model in the S21 Ultra range has 16 GB of RAM. That should change with the new flagship. While the leaker announces the prices in his short tweet, you can also see that the Ultra will only differ in the storage capacity. Accordingly, the two Ultra models should each have 12 GB of RAM, the 16 GB variant would therefore be omitted.

When you consider that Samsung has made savings on various aspects according to some leaks and rumors, the prices seem unjustified at first. In addition to a supposedly smaller battery, Samsung will certainly do without the charger again. So if Samsung finally improves quick charging, Samsung fans will also face additional costs.

What do you think of the prices for the Samsung Galaxy S22? Do you think it’s fair to ask so much for the new flagship? Write it in the comments! We are excited.
