Samsung makes products that are tough, lightweight, and specially designed for working in tough conditions. With this in mind, the Korean company recently announced two new products, a smartphone and a tablet specially designed for working outside the office.
The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro is Samsung’s latest smartphone designed for people working on construction sites or other harsh environments. It used to be common to see mid-range specs on phones designed for business use. If the Samsung mobile does not compete with the Galaxy S22, it still comes with a solid technical sheet and four years of promises of updates. The phone is sold around 599 euros.
Samsung also announced the Galaxy Tab Active Pro 5G, a tablet that, as the name suggests, can connect to Wi-Fi and 5G. It also includes compatibility with the S Pen and many other features. Here too, Samsung promises three major OS updates and five years of security updates. Something to reassure companies about the long-term viability of such a gadget. It is available now from 769 euros.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro
Samsung’s new smartphone is a sturdy, yet quite sleek device, just 9.9mm thick. Inside the device is a removable 4050 mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage (with a microSD card slot) and a 50 main camera. PM. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ (the same as on the S22) and the LCD panel measures 6.6 inches diagonally. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the side edge. It’s also nice to see a 3.5mm headphone jack.
It should be noted, however, that seeing a removable battery on a smartphone is rare in 2022. For Samsung, this is a way of reassuring about the repairability of the phone, and therefore its durability.

As advertised, the XCover 6 Pro is built to withstand all the vagaries of outdoor work, with IP68 and MIL-STD-810H certification. Two programmable keys are available and allow you to launch certain applications or certain functions. The phone also supports Samsung DeX and Samsung Knox to turn your phone into a real secure laptop.
The design, screen compatibility with gloves and customizable buttons help make the phone essential for those who do not work behind a desk.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Pro
The Galaxy Tab Active Pro 5G is available with 64 or 128 GB of internal storage (with a microSD slot). The 64 GB model costs 769 euros and the 128 GB model costs 829 euros. Models without 5G compatibility cost 110 euros less.
The Tab Active Pro is launched under Android 12. It displays a fairly contained size, with 242.9 x 170.2 x 10.2 mm. All for 674 grams on the scale. It has a 10.1 inch screen with a definition of 1920 x 1200 pixels. A 7600mAh battery powers it all, while a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera capture the shots you need.

A seven-pin POGO connection also allows you to connect to various accessories. A built-in S Pen and gloved input support help you interact with the tablet no matter your work environment. It is even possible to use the tablet without using the battery (as long as it is plugged in) to avoid the risk of overheating and swelling when the sun is beating down. Samsung DeX is also supported and it is possible to invoke the famous desktop interface directly on the device.
