Released last August, Baldur’s Gate III is the phenomenon game of 2023. It must be said that the title from Larian Studios won the game of the year prize at the Game Awards ceremony. While the latter has a massive lifespan, many players enjoy restarting a game by imposing constraints on themselves to discover the adventure in a new light. This is the case of a videographer called Proxy Gate Tactician who set himself an unusual challenge: finish the game in the form of a cat. And as strange as it may seem, it’s possible! And that even leads to a few surprises.

To succeed in your challenge, Proxy Gate Tactician therefore chose the Druid class to be able to transform into an animal at will. And the first twist of this challenge is that with the word “cat”, the videographer will in fact use all the forms of felines at his disposal. In other words, he can change into a domestic cat, a panther or even a saber-toothed tiger. Very practical for combat. So, the Proxy Gate Tactician character will constantly be in feline form, at least when possible. For example, after taking too much damage, during cutscenes or to use certain camp features, it becomes impossible. But at the same time, certain cutscenes can be different when taking the form of an animal, which creates some surprise.
However, the animal form comes with many constraints, such as not being able to talk to people. So as not to go on an adventure alone, he calls on the services of Blight, the mysterious character at the camp, who allows him to summon companions whom he obviously specializes in druids so that they in turn transform into cats. Once the team is complete, it’s time to set off on an adventure and begin the battles with great ingenuity. But to everyone’s surprise, thanks to this singular form, Proxy Gate Tactician managed to kill Raphael at the end of Act 1.
