While a film is already in preparation, this cult saga from Sony would also be entitled to a remaster very soon.
Action-adventure series developed by Sony and its Japan Studio team (which has now closed its doors), Gravity Rush let us play a heroine capable of controlling gravity. And if you heard the name of this cult saga recently, it’s because during CES 2024, Sony showed brief images of the animated feature film adapted from the license. We just see a young woman diving at full speed through the air, so it’s difficult to get an idea, but the short extract is enough to mark the skepticism of the spectators and sign some very unapproving opinions. A new rumor should nevertheless further delight the crowds: it is said that a certain remaster of Gravity Rush 2 is reportedly currently in development for PC and PlayStation 5 and will be released this summer, first on the latter machine. Such a project could logically coincide with the promotion of the new film and breathe new life into the saga.
According to the few scraps of information collected on the Gaming Leaks subreddit (which has already disclosed information on Gravity Rush, the production of the film, and its screening at CES) and the Team ALUA Discord server, the famous remaster would be in a state of advanced development, with a playtest already underway. An official reveal is reportedly planned for May and it is also rumored that none of the original game’s online features will be presentbut that the remaster would nevertheless offer a solid photo mode.
