Gaussin: warning on its 2023 turnover – 01/29/2024 at 08:38

(AOF) – While Gaussin’s turnover and order book will be published on February 14, the innovative vehicle specialist is backtracking. It specifies in a press release that “the forecasts established at the start of 2023 were based on a robust order book”, auguring a turnover in excess of 100 million euros for the 2023 financial year. At this stage of the closing works, it now appears that the turnover should not exceed 40 million euros for the 2023 financial year.

“This significant gap results from significant difficulties which were, for the most part, concentrated during the last quarter of 2023,” indicates a press release from Gaussin.

Before continuing: “The situation was exacerbated by persistent delays in the delivery of components by suppliers and, more seriously still, by the disorganization of the company following the appointment of a new deputy general manager: this appointment, made at the request of the CSG group, was announced to the market at the beginning of October 2023. This new manager accumulated irrational and contradictory decisions which totally disorganized the company and created internal conflicts and organizational disruptions. This directly impacted the turnover figure. business of the Group as a whole. For example, deliveries were suspended, suppliers and customers were not prioritized and prospects did not receive a favorable response to their commercial requests.

Rail investment plan

The French railway industry is in second place in Europe and third place worldwide. This industry displays a trade surplus, which generates more than 100,000 jobs in France. The announcement of the future plan for French rail transport provides in particular for the regeneration and modernization of the network, the average age of which is 30 years in our territory. This age is much higher than that of countries like Germany (17 years) and Switzerland (15 years). An annual investment increasing from 2.8 billion euros to nearly 4 billion euros should make it possible to maintain the entire network in good condition.
