"GNTM" has only just started and yet the candidates Romina, Romy and Maria are already small stars with prominent support.

In the opening episode "Germany's Next Top Model" (ProSieben) on Thursday evening (4.2.) Show boss Heidi Klum (47) got to know this year's candidates personally for the first time. As announced, a lot is different this year and so there are actually many very different types among the model candidates. Three of them even have prominent support.

21-year-old Romina from Cologne

Candidate Romina even has a real little celebrity fan club. The 21-year-old from Cologne is in a relationship with artist manager Stefano Zarrella (29). Therefore, of course, his brother Giovanni Zarrella (42) keeps his fingers crossed for her. In an Insta story, the singer and presenter posted a kiss photo of the couple and commented on it with "proud of you" and "love you".

For Giovanni Zarrella's wife, model and presenter Jana Ina Zarrella (44), it is also clear who she is sticking to. She posted three Romina stories on Instagram: a model photo, a couple photo with Stefano and the excerpt from the show when Romina got into the next round.

But that's not all, Gerda Lewis (28) also supports Romina. Gerda took part in "Germany's Next Top Model" in 2018 and reached 17th place. She posted some stories on Instagram showing Romina excerpts from the show. "It's so amazing to watch 'GNTM' when there are friends around. They are really two really great girls. Both are super natural and special," says Gerda. The other candidate, whom she also means, is 23-year-old Alex from Cologne.

The 19-year-old high school graduate Romy from Görlitz

The 19-year-old high school graduate Romy from Görlitz, Saxony, found out about her participation in "Germany's next top model" from none other than last year's winner Jacqueline "Jacky" Wruck (22). She appeared personally as a surprise guest at a garden party, at which Romy was supposed to give only a small violin concert. The joy was huge.

And Heid Klum made no secret of her sympathy for the young, lively and expressly self-confessed Heidi Klum fan in one place or another. When it was Romy's turn and had to go on the catwalk for the first decisive walk, Klum agreed to her guest juror, the French fashion designer Manfred Thierry Mugler (72), for the performance: "I like this one that's coming now" (Ger. "Ich like the one that comes now ").

The 21-year-old bookbinder Maria from Flensburg

The 21-year-old bookbinder Maria from Flensburg also has a prominent supporter in her professional restart as a model. Because the popular blonde is deaf, she has an interpreter with her. But when she made her first appearance in front of Heidi Klum, her daughter, young model Leni Klum (16), suddenly came into play and tried a short small talk with Maria in "Sign Language". Leni Klum has been learning sign language instead of another foreign language for two years, as the proud mother explains to the model candidates.
