(Boursier.com) — Big rebound in traffic under the Channel in January. During the first month of the year, Le Shuttle Freight transported 113,917 trucks, an increase of 38% compared to January 2021, driven by the success of the Eurotunnel Border Pass application and a favorable base effect linked to the disruptions resulting the entry into force of the administrative formalities provided for in the trade and cooperation agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Over the same period, getlink notes that Le Shuttle transported 66,875 passenger vehicles, a jump of 44% over one year. Even if the activity was able to benefit from the reduction of certain travel restrictions compared to 2021, it is still impacted by the pandemic.
The publication of the Group’s annual results for the 2021 financial year will take place on Thursday February 24, 2022 before market opening.
