The Glastonbury Festival should celebrate a big anniversary. Due to Corona, the event cannot take place in 2021 either.

The 50th anniversary of the legendary Glastonbury Festival was supposed to be celebrated in 2020. But the major event had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic. The big birthday cannot be made up for in 2021 either. The organizers have announced that the event will be canceled again this year.

"To our great regret, we have to announce that this year's Glastonbury Festival will not take place," said a statement published on January 21st on the event's website. They tried to set heaven and hell in motion, but it is now clear that the festival will not be possible.

McCartney and Swift would have been there originally

Music fans who have already paid a deposit for tickets can transfer this to tickets for 2022. However, a refund can also be requested until December 31, 2021. The next edition of Glastonbury is now scheduled for June 22-26, 2022.

In March 2020, the organizers had to cancel the 50th anniversary for the first time. The Glastonbury Festival in England is one of the world's largest open air events. Megastar Paul McCartney (78), pop princess Taylor Swift (31) and rapper Kendrick Lamar (33) should have performed. Even rumors of a possible reunion of the British cult band Oasis ("Wonderwall") at the festival haunted the press.
