Globetrotter tells: How I traveled through Europe with family and cargo bike

André Schumacher has traveled the world for over 20 years and has had many extraordinary trips, which he reports on in many travel shows. In the second part of the conversation with Andreas Arnold from the Travelisto travel podcast, Schumacher tells how he wants to relax after years of adventure and therefore explores the Canary Islands. As life plays, he gets to know the Spaniard Jenni, with whom he finally settles on the Kunterbunthof and starts a family. With the help of crowdfunding and many volunteers from all over the world, a meeting point for travel enthusiasts and a holiday farm with a holiday apartment, a tiny house and two Breton yurts are created. Most recently, the Kunterbunthof was even voted the most popular holiday farm in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and one of the ten most beautiful places to get out in Europe.

Cycling across Europe

When his son Unai is 18 months old, Schumacher and his wife again get travel fever. The family sets off on their cargo bike from their farm in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and cycles through Europe for six months. Via the Elbe Cycle Path it goes first to the Vltava and up into the Bohemian Forest. Through the Salzkammergut, Hohe Tauern and the Dolomites, through Piedmont and Provence through the Cevennes and the Pyrenees to Pamplona in Spain. In a cheerful and interesting conversation, Schumacher reports on this unusual bike tour, where the route is the real goal and on which there is a lot to experience.
