Godzilla trailer: Humanity against monsters in the epic Monarch series

Check out the very first trailer for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”, the Monsterverse series from Apple TV+!

Apple TV+ has released its first trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, the 10-episode series in Legendary’s Monsterverse franchise, a universe featuring kaiju-like monsters like Godzilla and King Kong.

As The Verge recalls, the series will pick up after the events of Godzilla 2 – King of the Monsters (2019) and follow two siblings following in their father’s footsteps and exploring their family’s connection to the mysterious Monarch organization. Spanning multiple eras, their journey will take them to army officer Lee Shaw (played by both Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell) and explore his involvement with Monarch since the 1950s.

In the trailer, we can also find Bill Randa (John Goodman) who we could see in Kong: Skull Island in 2017, all accompanied by attacks from various giant beasts and a disturbing soundtrack.

The show, which will also star Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski, will explore, according to The Verge, “the question of who the real monsters are” in a world where humanity attempts to coexist with these titans.

The next film in the franchise, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, will be released on April 10, 2024 in France.

In the meantime, the first two episodes of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on November 17, followed by one episode every week until January 12, 2024.
