The knife attack on Linz’s Froschberg has been resolved: An 18-year-old Afghan was clearly identified as a suspect. He says nothing about the attack on the 23-year-old.

On November 6, 2021 at around 2 p.m. there was an argument between two men in the area of ​​Linz’s Kudlichstraße for no apparent reason, in which one stabbed with a knife. The initially unknown accused fled by bus in the direction of Froschberg. The police officers who were summoned met the victim at the scene, a 23-year-old from Linz, and his 22-year-old girlfriend from Linz. The man had a puncture wound in the torso, which was first treated by the police. An immediate search for the unknown was initially unsuccessful. The victim was admitted to the Kepler University Hospital with injuries of unspecified degree. On the basis of a precise description of the person, the police came across an 18-year-old Afghan from Linz, who was also unequivocally identified by the victim, and the public prosecutor’s office ordered the arrest. The Afghan was arrested in his apartment on Friday, November 12, 2021, six days after the crime. When questioned, the man exercised his right to refuse to testify. He was admitted to the Linz Prison.
