New episodes start without Steffen Henssler at the grill
At first, Steffen Henssler cannot join the barbecue.

Finally there are spectators at “Grill den Henssler” again, but Steffen Henssler has to pass injured. What does he think of it?
Steffen Henssler (48) and his prominent culinary opponents can again compete in front of an audience. For four “Grill den Henssler – Summer Specials”, spectators were again allowed on the floating stage in Elbauenpark in Magdeburg due to falling corona numbers during the recording – under a strict hygiene concept, as VOX emphasizes. The first special will be available on August 8th from 8:15 p.m. on the transmitter (and at TV Now) to see.
But Steffen Henssler cannot compete in the first edition because he can hardly appear. Because of an infection, his foot is stuck in a splint, the TV chef is driven onto the stage in a golf cart, as reported by VOX. “Actually, I was banned from appearing today. I won’t be able to cook, but I’ll still be at the start,” explains Henssler.
Detlef Steves as replacement Henssler
As with a previous injury, Steffen Henssler is represented by his favorite opponent and friend Detlef Steves (52) – back then at the stove, now at the grill, because the “summer specials” are only cooked over an open fire. For dessert, Steves leaves the cooking to presenter Laura Wontorra (32). After all, the last time he went out for dessert, he had confused sugar and salt.
Ilka Bessin, BossHoss and Beatrice Egli
Ilka Bessin (49) competes against Henssler and his extended arm Steves at the starter. The comedian and trained cook has to conjure up “Grilled Soljanka from Märkisches Potato Pork”. Alec Völkel (49) and Sascha Vollmer (49) from The BossHoss grill the main course “Big Block Steak & Hot Bones – Iron Flat with sweet potato smash and grilled marrow bone” on a bonnet. Singer Beatrice Egli (33) challenges presenter Wontorra at the dessert “Swiss cream tart with apricot salad”. The celebrities are coached by meat specialist Lucki Maurer.
