Gwyneth Paltrow shares absurd tips against the long-term effects of Covid-19 – including intermittent fasting and eating kimchi.

Gwyneth Paltrow (48, "Great Expectations") has made controversial claims about a possible treatment of the long-term effects of Covid 19 disease. On her lifestyle website "Goop", Paltrow claims that the long-term effects could be treated with fasting, regular infrared saunas and eating kimchi.

In the post, Paltrow speaks from her own experience. Accordingly, she had Covid-19 early on and suffered from fatigue and "brain fog" for a long time. Eventually, she would have gone to an alternative medicine practitioner who would have put her on a keto and plant-based diet. She would have mainly eaten kimchi, drank kombucha and ate from eleven every day.

The medical director of the UK's National Health Service warned the BBC about these "tips". "I wish her a speedy recovery, but some of the solutions she recommends are not really treatments that we would recommend at the NHS. We need to take the long-term effects seriously and apply serious science." He also pointed out that influencers who use social media have "responsibility and duty of care".
