(Boursier.com) — Annual inflation held up well at 4.9% in September in France. This stability results from a sharp acceleration in energy prices over one year (+11.9% after +6.8%), offset by the slowdown in food prices (+9.7% after +11 .2%), services (+2.9% after +3.0%) and manufactured products (+2.8% after +3.1%), details INSEE. Tobacco inflation is stable compared to the previous month (+9.9%). Sequentially, prices fell by 0.5% after +1% in August.

Harmonized with European standards, annual inflation is also stable, revised up 0.1 point compared to its initial estimate, at 5.7%, as in August. Over one month, the HICP fell by 0.6%, after +1.1% the previous month.
