"Sex and the City" could soon celebrate a comeback – but not as a third sequel, as expected, but as a series.

Will there be a surprising comeback in the series universe soon? According to "Page Six", the gossip section of the "New York Post", the streaming service HBO Max is planning a "Sex and the City" miniseries. An insider told the celebrity site that all the original stars of the original HBO series (1998 to 2004) should be on board – except for Kim Cattrall (64).

The actress had stressed several times in the past that she had finished with "Sex and the City". "It was a blessing in so many ways, but after the second film I had enough," said the 64-year-old in an interview with the British Guardian in 2019, emphasizing that she would have no problems with her role in Samantha Jones will. Cattrall is also said to have a broken relationship with the rest of the cast.

Sarah Jessica Parker wishes a "visit to Carrie"

In the new miniseries, Sarah Jessica Parker (55) as Carrie Bradshaw, Kristin Davis (55) as Charlotte York and Cynthia Nixon (54) as Miranda Hobbes would be seen. In an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" last year, Parker indicated that she does not rule out a return to the "Sex and the City" universe.

"I wouldn't see it as a new edition, but as a return visit," said the actress. She'd be very excited to see how the characters would handle social media and tech, said Parker. "I think Carrie would love to share her thoughts and feelings on topics like the MeToo movement." So far, fans had assumed that there would be another sequel to the series, if at all. Parts one and two were shown in theaters in 2008 and 2010.

HBO Max is known for bringing joy to fans of old series classics. The streaming service, which belongs to the parent company WarnerMedia, has already broadcast a reunion meeting of the cast of "The Prince of Bel-Air" with Will Smith (52), and a reunion with the "Friends" stars is already being planned. In addition, series such as "Gossip Girl" or "Pretty Little Liars" are being reprinted.
