HDF Energy announces the launch of the company Hynaval – 09/11/2023 at 6:12 p.m.

(AOF) – Hydrogène de France (HDF Energy), developer of large hydrogen infrastructures and manufacturer of high-power fuel cells, is taking a significant stake alongside CLYD, naval architect, in the new company Hynaval. The two companies are combining their skills to design hydrogen boats and convert existing boats to hydrogen (retrofit).

Located within the naval center of the Grand Port Maritime de Bordeaux, at Bassins à flot, Hynaval will have a hangar dedicated to its activity.

On this site, Hynaval will operate a shipyard specializing in the design, manufacture and retrofit of hydrogen-powered boats, thus offering an alternative free of CO2 emissions.

This collaboration will merge CLYD’s expertise in naval architecture with HDF Energy’s expertise in the field of hydrogen.

The challenges of water recycling

According to a report from the World Economic Forum, demand for water will jump by 55% by 2050. However, only 11% of water is recycled globally, with strong disparities depending on the country: if this rate reaches 89% in Israel, it falls to 15% in Spain. It is even less than 1% in France! The Veolia manager, however, believes that the rate of 10% targeted for 2030, as part of the new Water plan announced by the authorities, is achievable under certain conditions. At the forefront is administrative simplification. Veolia is committed to tripling its production of recycled water by 2030 to bring it to 3 billion m3. In this area, the world leader in environmental services strengthened its know-how during its takeover bid for the former Suez group.
